Join us for an evening of poetry and songs featuring Tess Taylor, David Baker, Kim Taylor, and Brianna Kelly to bless the harvest season in our Good News Garden!

The Art of Scripture: Art Literacy and the Bible as Living Text

Today many people attempt to read the Bible as a science book, a moral or legal rulebook, or a work of ancient paranormal journalism. None of these approaches work well, because the Bible simply doesn’t fit into those categories. The Bible is a work of sacred Art. Art conveys truth in a highly distinctive way, yet modern American culture does little to equip people with the skills required for art literacy. Join us for dinner and conversation as we examine a range of artworks which might help us understand the ways the Bible conveys truth and the ways art has continued to expand the scope of biblical truth in an ever-changing world.
